ADB Participates in World Food Day 2017 Events in Trinidad and Tobago


 ‘Change the future of migration. Invest in food security and rural development’.  This was the official theme chosen by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for World Food Day 2017. 


Further to ADB’s participation at CARIRI’s World Food Day 2017 event, the Bank, on Saturday, 14th October, 2017 also participated via an exhibition booth at the World Food Day 2017 event hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries in collaboration with the National Agricultural Marketing and Development Corporation (NAMDEVCO) and the World Food Day National Committee at the Ministry’s Head Office, Chaguanas.

This event took the form of a Farmers’ Marketwith displays and exhibits from various stakeholder Agencies showcasing the work of rural communities.  A brief formal ceremony was held in which Senator the Honourable Clarence Rambharat, Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries delivered the Feature Address. 

Officers from the Central Branch Office along with Business Development and Corporate Communications Departments were present for the day to meet with the many patrons.


Similarly, the Bank’s Tobago Branch Office participated at the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) - Division of Food Production, Forestry and Fisheries World Food Day 2017 activities which took place on October 14 at Garden Side Street car park, Scarborough.  


The events were deemed successful as numerous patrons visited both corporate booths to enquire about the Bank’s products and services and to obtain further information on their agri projects.
